Philly Gay Pride Parade 2008

ASIAC (AIDS Services for Asian Communities) again went with a "Flags of all Asian nations" theme like last year. I carried the flag of the Phillipines. We walked two miles in 103 degree weather. Yikes!

Why Walk in your Pride Day Parade?

If you are transgender, you must walk in your city's Pride Day Parade. You walk to represent yourself and others in the transgender community. You walk for those who cannot walk in the parade, for those who are too ill but are there in spirit. You walk for all of the principles you believe in and for all the people who taught you those principles. You walk on Pride Day because you are proud to be transgender and proud to be you.
